Development and validation of the numerical model of Electron Cyclotron Resonance Ion Sources

Abstract Processes of the secondary electron emission (SEE) from walls are included into Numerical Advanced Model Electron Cyclotron Resonance Ion Sources (NAM-ECRIS). It is found that SEE strongly influences confinement time and ion production. With modified model, we observe reactions source to changes in a gas flow an injected microwave power. The performance with scaling hexapole magnetic field investigated. calculated tendencies close experimental observations.
